Recently, he and Justin were finally able to negotiate distance, tech limitations, and time zones for the first true Deutero Cannons conversation since early autumn.

”Mind at the End of Its Tether” -- Chesterton & Wells, Part 3

This is the third and final (at least for now) episode examining G.K. Chesterton's critique of H.G. Wells' globalist/ materialist/ socialist faith.

 

Specifically, this episode considers Wells' despondency revealed in his last (and likely least known) book, Mind at the End of Its Tether, published just before his death in 1945. 

 

Interestingly, Chesterton predicted this "end of the tether" for Wells as much as 40 years before.

Before listening to this episode, check out part one -- "H.G. Wells: Apostle of Humanist Globalism," which argues that Wells' globalist faith is a "pattern of the world" (Romans 12:1-2) that Christians and people of good will everywhere need to recognize and reject.

In this episode, Justin digs into some G.K. Chesterton's critiques of Wells and the globalists of his day, specifically in his novel The Notting Hill.

H.G. Wells: Apostle of Globalist Humanism

Byron is out of town, so Justin is on his own, making the most of the situation....and the technology. In this first "Solo Cannon" edition, Justin discusses a "pattern of the world" (Romans 12:1-2) as revealed in the writings of famous sci-fi writer H.G. Wells, especially his lesser-known Globalist/ utopian writings. 

Over 100 years ago, Wells was a member of the "Fabian Society," a group of British academics and social elites which called itself an "Open Conspiracy" to bring about a "Global Socialist State" by slowly infiltrating all institutions of social influence -- education, law, art, politics, journalism, and the sciences.
